I started getting this android is starting....optimizing apps 1 of 1. after reading this thread, i found the problem to be zedge. i've used this app for about 6 years, then a recent forced update started causing the error, making my phone take about 15 minutes to boot. i uninstalled zedge and got rid of the problem.. Every time i reboot my lg g4 i get the android is starting. optimizing app 1 of 1... and takes about 15 minutes to finish each time. i've tried booting into recovery mode to wipe the partition cache, but the phone won't seem to boot into recovery mode by holding the power button and volume down buttons on boot. it ignores it.. Obviously, mine is due to the android system. my tab is running lollipop 5.1.1 and i can no longer update this system. this problem eats between 2 and 5% of the battery at start-up and there is no way for me to "uninstall" this like an app..
